Class 8 Maths Solutions
New books of Class 8 Maths have been issued by the NCERT implementing National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020) across India. Now, the Class 8 Maths syllabus has been reduced tremendously to lessen the burden of textbooks on the children. Class 8 Maths Solutions are designed to help the students to get along with the new syllabus well. Here you will find solutions to every chapter discussed in the new syllabus exercise by exercise. Efforts have been made while preparing these solutions to explain the concept quickly and precisely.
Chapter 7 Comparing Quantities
Chapter 8 Algebraic Expressions and Identities
Chapter 9 Mensuration
Chapter 11 Direct and Inverse Proportion
Class 8 Maths Solutions gives you solutions to all the chapters given in the new NCERT textbook for class 8. Earlier there were 16 chapters but now NCERT has reduced the number of chapters to 13 reducing the content load on the students. Here you have been provided with solutions to all the chapters in a serial-wise manner.
Chapter 1 Rational Numbers
As you already know about natural numbers, whole numbers and integers. Now to further expand your knowledge of numbers you have been introduced to a new chapter Rational Numbers. Besides all the basics about rational numbers, you will also come to know the various properties of rational numbers like closure, commutativity, associativity and distributivity. Some important concepts like multiplicative identity and additive identity are also discussed in this chapter. This chapter contains only one exercise for the students to solve.
Chapter 2 Linear Equations in One Variable
This chapter carries forward the concepts you have studied in Class 7 Chapter Simple Equations. As you know about constants, variables, algebraic expressions and types of equations. This chapter teaches you how to solve the linear equation with variables on both sides of the equation. Moreover, you will also learn to reduce equations to the simplest forms. There are two exercises in
Chapter 3 Understanding Quadrilaterals
This is an important chapter that will lay the foundation for your upcoming classes. Here in this chapter, you will learn about polygons, their classification and how to differentiate between regular and irregular polygons. This chapter introduces us to a new property that the sum of exterior angles of a polygon is 360°. Here in this chapter, you will learn about the various kinds of quadrilaterals and the properties associated with different types of quadrilaterals. This chapter has 4 exercises covering all the topics discussed above.
Chapter 4 Data Handling
This is a fun-to-learn chapter teaching you to how to deal with data and organise data into useful pieces of information. This chapter discusses how we can represent data graphically via pictographs, bar graphs, double bar graphs and pie charts. The main focus of this chapter is to make the students feasible to read, understand and draw pie charts. Another important concept covered in this chapter is probability. You will find 2 exercises in this chapter of which one deals mostly with pie charts and the other deals with probability.
Chapter 5 Square and Square Roots
As the name suggests this chapter deals with square numbers and various properties related to square numbers. This chapter introduces you to Pythagorean triplets, square roots and numerous methods of finding square roots, especially finding square roots through prime factorisation. Besides this, you will also learn how you can use the division method to find square roots. There are a total of 4 exercises given in this chapter.
Chapter 6 Cubes and Cube Roots
As the previous chapter was about squares, this chapter introduces us to cubes, perfect cubes or cube numbers. This chapter covers how we can find cube roots of various numbers and the only method discussed here is using prime factorisation to find cube roots. This whole chapter is divided into 2 exercises each of its own importance.
Chapter 7 Comparing Quantities
Carrying forward the concept of ratios, proportions and percentages this chapter teaches you how you can compare various quantities. Since you studied Cost price, Selling price, Profit and Loss in earlier classes this chapter what discounts are and how you can find discounts in various cases. This chapter will help you to calculate compound interest and there are also some problems related to applications of compound interest. 3 exercises included in this chapter makes us well-versed with this chapter.
Chapter 8 Algebraic Expressions and Identities
In class 7 you have already learned how algebraic expressions are formed but here in this chapter, you will learn to perform various operations like addition and multiplication on various expressions. This chapter also covers topics like multiplications of algebraic expressions and how you can multiply various types of polynomials with other types of polynomials.
Chapter 9 Mensuration
You already know that a polygon is a closed-sided figure, now here in this chapter you will learn how you can find areas of various polygons like trapezium, rhombus, parallelograms and triangles. Here in this chapter, you will also deal with questions related to the surface area and volume of cuboids, cubes and cylinders. A total of 3 exercises are included in this chapter to test the understanding of the chapter.
Chapter 10 Exponents and Powers
You have already studied exponents and powers in class 7. This chapter adds to the knowledge of the concept by introducing us to some problems related to the laws of exponents and you will also learn how you can express various exponents in the standard form.
Chapter 11 Direct and Inverse Proportions
In this chapter, you will be learning a new concept direct and indirect proportions. Quantities are said to be in direct proportion if the value of one quantity increases with the increase of another quantity or vice-versa and quantities are said to be in indirect proportion if one quantity increases with the decrease in the value of another quantity or vice-versa. You have to solve 2 exercises in this chapter.
Chapter 12 Factorisation
This is another chapter where you have to recall the concepts of algebraic expressions. Here you will learn to find factors of expressions by using the common factors method and also by using various identities. Another topic included in this chapter is dividing of an expression by another expression.
Chapter 13 Introduction to Graphs
When the interpretation of large amounts of data becomes difficult then graphs come to your rescue. Data when represented graphically becomes easier to understand. In this chapter, you will learn how you can use a line graph to represent data that changes over time. You will also find some questions related to the applications of graphs.
